Who can see a gynaecologist in HRBR Layout?

Any woman or girl with a concern about periods, pregnancy, fertility, contraception or pelvic health can book a consultation with Dr. Divya in HRBR Layout. You do not need a referral.

HRBR Layout sits in East–North Bengaluru, close to neighbourhoods such as Kalyan Nagar, Banaswadi, Kammanahalli and Hennur. Many women from these areas, and from nearby Horamavu and Ramamurthy Nagar, find the HRBR Layout clinic the most convenient. If you live further north, towards Hebbal, Yelahanka or Jakkur, the Sahakar Nagar or Thanisandra clinics may be closer.

People often book because of:

  • Irregular, painful or heavy periods
  • Suspected PCOS, acne, weight gain or excess hair growth
  • A positive pregnancy test, or planning a pregnancy
  • Difficulty conceiving after trying for a while
  • White discharge, itching or pelvic pain
  • A routine check-up, Pap smear or HPV test
  • Questions about contraception, menopause or the HPV vaccine

What happens at your first visit?

Your first visit is mainly a conversation. Dr. Divya will ask about your symptoms and history, then explain what she thinks is going on and which tests, if any, will help.

1. History

Expect questions about your periods (when they started, how regular and heavy they are), past pregnancies, any surgeries, medical conditions such as thyroid problems or diabetes, current medicines and family history. These questions are routine and help her avoid unnecessary tests.

2. Examination, only when needed

Not every visit needs an internal examination. If one would help, Dr. Divya will explain why and what it involves, and it is done only with your consent. You are welcome to have a family member or a female staff member present.

3. Tests and plan

Depending on your concern, she may suggest blood tests (such as haemoglobin, thyroid or hormone levels), a pelvic ultrasound, or a Pap smear or HPV test. You will leave knowing what each test is for and when to come back.

What to bring

  • Previous prescriptions, blood reports and ultrasound scans
  • The date of the first day of your last period
  • A list of the medicines and supplements you take
  • Your questions written down, so nothing is forgotten

How do you book an appointment, and what are the consultation hours?

You can book online through the appointment page or by calling +91 99459 26987. Consultation hours are Monday to Saturday, 10 AM–1 PM and 3–8 PM.

When you book, tell the team you would like the HRBR Layout clinic. If a particular time does not work there, they can let you know when Dr. Divya is at Thanisandra or Sahakar Nagar instead. You can also email info@drdivyavenugopalan.in with non-urgent questions.

Evening slots are popular with working women, so booking a day or two ahead helps. If you are pregnant and have new symptoms, call rather than waiting for a routine slot.

When to see a gynaecologist

Book a consultation soon if you notice any of the following. Some of these need same-day attention.

  • Bleeding after sex, between periods or after menopause
  • Periods so heavy that you soak a pad every hour or pass large clots
  • Severe pelvic or abdominal pain, especially with fever or fainting
  • Bleeding, pain, leaking fluid or reduced baby movements during pregnancy
  • No period for three months or more (when not pregnant)
  • A lump, unusual discharge with a bad smell, or sores in the genital area
  • Trying for a baby for 12 months without success (6 months if you are 35 or older)

Heavy bleeding with dizziness, severe pain in pregnancy or fainting is an emergency: go to the nearest hospital emergency department.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral to see Dr. Divya in HRBR Layout?

No. You can book directly online or by phone. If another doctor has seen you, bring their notes and reports so that tests are not repeated unnecessarily.

What are the consultation hours?

Dr. Divya consults Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 1 PM and 3 PM to 8 PM. When you book, mention that you prefer HRBR Layout and the team will confirm a slot there.

Can I visit during my period?

Yes. For most consultations, being on your period is not a problem, and for heavy bleeding it can even help the doctor see what is happening. A Pap smear is usually best done when you are not bleeding, so the team may suggest a different date for that test.
